Let’s compare my current and past work of 2011. Part of working retail is to replace the busy-ness that I had with Save the Barn.
1. The people. Then: I was very focused and had to deal with two groups of people, friendly and hostile. After meeting with them, I had to figure out our next move. Now: Everyone is happy about what we are doing. There is no headwork involved once I leave the shop.
2. The environment. Then: We met in a different place at a different time frequently and irregularly. We did a lot of work online, and worked at any time of day. Now: Retail work is always at the store. The store has ten rooms, and I will always be in one of them. Again, many different times of the day, always in person.
