Crafty Monday: Amulet Pouches

amulet pouch crafty juliecacheSince we traveled over Christmas, I had to get my ducks in a row before we left. Fortunately, I had seen a pattern for knitting with scraps of yarn. (it is in this book) My version is pictured here.

Sometimes, when they were very young, my kids didn’t have pockets, or didn’t have enough pockets, for all the little things they found while out and about. Enter the Amulet Pouch.

I don’t know that any of the kids thought they were searching for amulets for luck or for  acquiring different characteristics, but they did like to save acorns, pebbles, unique -looking roots and twigs, etc.

And, yeah…..I still have a lot of leftover yarn.

But as a project, this pouch is excellent in that many colors or few colors can be used. The small size means that I can make one or two per night. And for a kid, the possibilities of the pouch are pretty much nonstop.
