The baby is fine, thank you
I wrote about saving this baby last week. Here is what it look liked last Thursday.
We found the bees moved from a downed tree branch to a lilac bush.
And here is the hive this afternoon.
The bees have lived under the lilacs in this box for a week now.
A bee got in the way, but I think you can still see the bright white comb that they’ve made.
I’m feeling good about this hive. I have yet to see dead bees. I delivered 3/4 gallon of syrup over the weekend. They had a bit left in the feeder when I checked today.
I like the way seeing the different colorations. It indicates the age of the bee — darker is older.
This hive is about 15 minutes away from my house. The host family is very positive about having the hive. Many people buy from local honey producers. How far does your honey travel to get to your home?
