Crafty Monday: County Fair

The County Fair is an event that is open to the public to submit their projects (gardening, foods, crafts, photos, etc.). Anyone can show their work in Open Class Exhibits. FFA and 4-H kids can also show their work in classes just for them.

My child is in 4-H, which is for kids in grades 5 – 12. Fourth graders can participate, but their exhibits do not move to the state fair. The county 4-H clubs showed a lot of frugality and craftiness. I’ll feature some crafts today; frugal tips tomorrow. There is some overlap, which you can figure out.

When you see a blue ribbon, that means first place work. If a smaller ribbon is stapled to it, that means the work was a state fair consideration piece, which is a huge honor.

I left the fair feeling very inspired and proud of our county’s youth.
