I have attended the state fair nearly every year since I was a young child. My grandmother would drive us grandkids to the fairgrounds and proudly tell us that her granddad got to have premium parking for the fair. He would park cars and his family would stay at the fair all day. She was patient and generous with us and cultivated a love for the fair that I hope my children inherit.
