Crafty Monday: Under the needle

For Christmas, I struggled to get ‘boy gifts’ for my brother and brother-in-law. On top of being ‘boy gifts,’ I also wanted the gifts to cost about the same amount. I turned to my sewing machine to create a pot holder.

before and after

Actually, it’s my youngest child’s sewing machine. Mine pretty much bit the dust. For $100 and twelve years, my machine served me well.

Anyway, I felt like the spice rubs I bought for my brother-in-law cost the right amount, but seemed really small once I put them in a gift bag. A potholder seemed like a good, space-filling accompaniment for no cost. No cost because I have a huge stash drawer to conquer. {fabric lust is a bad habit, i know}
