When Mr. TellBlast began talking about traveling for Christmas, I really wanted to visit a place that I had never been. I wanted to do things we couldn’t do in Iowa. Riding on a ferry definitely isn’t offered in Iowa.

We rode two ferries in our second week on the Olympic Peninsula: Seattle to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton to Seattle. I had taken a ferry across Lake Champlaign in 1985 with my grandparents. The lake is so vast that you can see the curvature of the earth. I was excited that my kids would be able to have a ferry experience!
