Growing kitchen scraps

I’ve tried to grow celery stumps twice. Hopefully my third attempt will take. It will be a little while before I can set it outdoors. We’re still a month away from frost free-ness.

The last time I planted a celery stump outdoors, it was about this size:

I’m guessing that I’ve had this for two weeks.

Looking back, I wonder if I set the celery out before it was large enough. Or maybe it needed to be hardened off.

I’m also attempting to grow cabbage. I’ve read that cutting off the head in the field will yield a second, smaller head.

After one week in water, I have roots and leaves.
