  • Exploratory Beekeeping: a morning of considerations and take-home materials for people curious and unsure if beekeeping is for them. Class was held Feb. 18, 2022. Come back next winter or join a free, pared-down workshop in April 2023 (details here).
  • Beekeeping 101 In-Person is now closed. 6 classes total. On-Demand will be available until late April: Frequently re-taken as a refresher. Sign up for Beekeeping 101 on-demand: click here
  • Beekeeping 201 Registration is closed. 4 classes total for anyone with who has been through at least one summer with bees.  Come back next year!
  • Winter Beekeeping (July 2023): for beekeepers wanting to learn the latest strategies for overwinter success. 4 courses total. Link will be here once registration is available.


My backbone slides come from the State Apiarist and are updated every year with new information that my IPM4Bees Midwest Working Group presents. Beekeeping 101 has a textbook that you will need to purchase on your own if desired and will get you on your way to Apprentice Beekeeping with the Great Plains Master Beekeeper Program.
