julia teaching beekeeping classRegistration  for Exploratory and Beekeeping 201 may be done through Johnston Community Education. Courses have optional notes for purchase to help you keep up with the fast pace — we go through a lot of material in a short amount of time.

  • Exploratory Beekeeping: a morning of considerations for people curious and unsure if beekeeping is for them.
  • Beekeeping 101 In-Person is now closed. On-Demand will be available until late April: click here Beekeeping 101 (Tuesdays beginning Jan. 24, 2023): for brand new beekeepers. Frequently re-taken as a refresher. 
  • Beekeeping 201 (Thursdays in Feb. 2023): for anyone with who has been through at least one summer with bees.
  • Winter Beekeeping (July 2023): for beekeepers wanting to learn the latest strategies for overwinter success.
