Grafting is one of many ways for beekeepers to raise their own queens. It can be especially helpful when you want to raise a specific quantity and when you want queens ready by a certain date.

Tyler Lane learned her grafting skills from Jason Foley. She has experienced many beekeeping experiences — hobbyist, sideliner, her own grant-funded research, hired staff, and filing for disaster assistance.
