Aster, Symphyotrichm or Aster
The aster is an upright, sometimes bushy plant that can get up to 5′ tall. Flowers appear as early as Labor Day until frost and are identifiable by the fine, rayed petals and fine soft leaves.
I’ve seen white, pale blue, and shades of purple flowers.
Asters are important as a late season forage.
